The UNSC Freedom of Spirit is a Marathon-class heavy cruiser that served through most of the Human-Covenant War and is one of the few ships to survive the Fall of Reach and Battle of Earth.

History Edit

Construction Edit

UNSC Freedom of Spirit was first commissioned in December 9, 2537 by the UNSC Navy. It was designed to be slightly larger than the average Stalwart-class frigate, with a slightly larger armament and equipped with light shielding devices. It first entered use on July 10, 2540.

Raid on the Third Fleet of Glorious Consequence Edit

Freedom of Spirit joins the Raid by providing supporting fire for the battle frames.

Battle of Sargasso Edit

Freedom of Spirit participated in a few Battles above the skies of Sargasso.

Battle of Arcadia Edit

Freedom of Spirit participated in the space battle over Arcadia, helping Pillar of Autumn and Texas take down a CCS-class battlecruiser, before heading into the atmosphere to deploy marines into Pirth City.

Battle of Sigma Octanus IV Edit

At 0600 hours, Freedom of Spirit joined the UNSC Fleet above Sigma Octanus IV, helping to form the "checkerboard" formation that destroyed so much of the Covenant fleet that arrived 25 minutes later. After destroying what remained of the Covenant navy, Freedom of Spirit dropped 400 marines and 12 ODSTs on the surface of the planet to fight the Covenant ground forces.

Fall of Reach Edit

Freedom of Spirit engages the second Covenant fleet, as well as helping with civilian evac. The ship extracts Valkyrie and Black eye teams and leaves Reach with the Pillar of Autumn.

Battle of Earth Edit

After the Fall of Reach, Freedom of Spirit was pulled back to Earth to defend the planet. One of the 8 Marathon-class cruisers charged with Earth's defense, it engaged the first small Covenant fleet. The ship then started dropping ODSTs, marines, and SPARTANs into New Mombasa. Freedom of Spirit fought Truth's fleet, one of the few ships that survived it.

Second Battle of Requiem Edit

Freedom of Spirit headed towards the Infinity's location at Requiem and provided support, both in the air and on the ground.
