Gridlock is an Arena multiplayer map in Halo 5: Guardians. The map is set in the city of Keyn on the planet Vus during the Battle of Vus. It was released on 3 March 2016.
Overview[]
The map is a remake of the map of the same name in the Gears of War series, it takes elements from all three versions of the map and fuses them into one enjoyable multiplayer map. The Fuel Rod Cannon replaces the Boomshot, Sniper Rifle for the Sniper, two Storm Rifles in place of the two Hammerbursts on the map, two Splinter grenades where Frag grenades spawn and two Plasma grenades each where the two Ink grenades spawn.
The sniper is a very useful weapon on the map due to the high vantage points and long street sights. Breakout is particularly true to the classic Gears of War mode Execution as both teams rush for the power weapon control in the one life per round set up.

- There is an Easter Egg on the map of a toy Grunt holding the Halo: Combat Evolved Pistol.
