Rain Forest Wars[]
The regiment was originally planned to be sent to external conflicts in the Solar Systems to combat left-wing and right-wing extremists, until the conflict hit home soil. On March 16, 2162 the 1st Marines were scrambled along with many more units to defend the fertile grounds of South America. The regiment was nearly annihilated, along with 200 million people, the bloodiest war in Human history at the time..
Insurrection[]
Operation: TREBUCHET[]
The 1st Marine Regiment was acting as the vanguard of the UNSC invasion force's advance on the capital. They then where drawn into an ambush in Jungle like terrain, artilery pounding away, outnumbered 10 to 1, surrounded, and communication severed, they made a bold move and launched a counter attack in all direction, although it failed it made the enemy run in fear. The Marines managed to hold out an entire week until the rest of the UNSC advance caught up, when they did, they found a shell of a unit, the battle can be compared to the Battle of Guadalcanal, in wich the unit was in the same position with the same outcome.
